Abigail Oppong is a 20-year-old Ghanaian; she is a young leader, developer and serial volunteer who is passionate about the development of people in community. I have been volunteering with different organizations doing projects like capacity building, teaching coding, feeding street children, and the likes for years now. Abigail grew up with the desire to promote empowerment programs that would encourage women through the Young African Women Leadership (YAWL). She was the secretary of YAWL which taught her a lot to grow her passion towards women empowerment hence Ms. Senela Jayasuriya-Abeynaike, CEO of Women Empowered Global(https://womenempowered.global/) honored her to be the Coordinator Officer for Women Empowered Global Africa, where she is currently coordinating the African Women in Leadership Forum in Africa. a platform for African Women to receive a free leadership seminar coaching with the award-winning coach, Ms. Senela Jayasuriya-Abeynaike.
Abigail was honored by Ariel Foundation (https://arielfoundation.org/management/#african-union) to be recognized as the youth Ambassador from Africa. Abigail represents youths in Africa as she listens to the voice of the youths in Africa and present it as a report to the United Nations for further review and consideration. She is the voice of the youth of Africa to Ariel Foundation International.
As a woman in Technology, she has a great passion towards promoting women into the STEM Industry. She is currently working on launching Association of Computer Machinery Chapter for Women https://www.acm.org/) in Ghana and looking forward to expanding across Africa with the support of some abled IT professionals. As a representative of FasterCapital in her region, she aims to help more of these ladies to innovate around their ideas with the help of Mentors through FasterCapital.
Not only that but Abigail is also the Director of Development for Tieme Ndo (https://tiemendo.com/) as the only woman amongst the team helping the rural farmers in the Northern Region of Ghana. Her aim is to help encourage more youth and women into Agriculture.
She was recently honored and rewarded as the Co-Chair of Global Goodwill Ambassador (https://www.globalgoodwillambassadors.org/) for Ghana to help organize various humanitarians in Ghana to come together and develop strategical agenda that will help the nation. She is among the Youngest Global Goodwill ambassadors and the only youngest Co-Chair.
